2,400 gallons of wastewater spilled at LP Willingham Park

Approximately 2,400 gallons of untreated wastewater went onto LP Willingham Park, and about 375 gallons of it reached a stormwater drain that runs into the New River, according to a press release Friday from the City of Jacksonville.The wastewater spill at about 6:40 a.m. Friday was caused by a malfunctioning valve on the main wastewater line to the city’s land treatment site, according to the release.
