NC installing 'wildlife guards' on I-40 to offer safe passage for bears

Animals like deer and bears often try to cross the road in certain areas, including Interstate 40. The Kiewit I-40 bridges project is part of a long-term project working to install wildlife accommodations to reduce animal — particularly bear — collisions.
