Report obtained by WRAL Investigates projects billions in potential gambling revenue if NC lawmakers allow it

Illegal gambling is a multi-billion dollar enterprise in the United States. Thanks to a 2018 United States Supreme Court ruling, many states are bringing gambling out of the shadows and into the mainstream. Since that ruling, more than two dozen states have approved some form of sports betting as another revenue stream for state coffers.
