Tropical Storm Erin far away from US, could be hurricane north of Caribbean by this weekend

Tropical Storm Erin formed Monday in the eastern tropical Atlantic Ocean. The National Hurricane Center expects it to remain a tropical storm through the early portion of the week, become a hurricane mid- to late week. Erin could be a major hurricane, Category 3 or higher, by next weekend.
