State lawmakers meet to debate how to spend an additional $500 million on Helene relief funding for western NCNorth Carolina Gov. Josh Stein is proposing $1.07 billion for Hurricane Helene relief. State House leaders are scheduled to review a proposal for half that amount on Tuesday.
