As the Fall season approaches, we again ask for the generosity of our Onslow County citizens for the Elder Cheer Program. The Onslow County Department of Social Services has sponsored Elder Cheer since 1997 to benefit residents of adult care homes in our county. Many of the residents receive Medicaid and only have $66 per month to meet all their personal needs. This money must also be used to pay for doctor visits and medication co-pays, leaving very little to spend on personal items. […]
