SNEADS FERRY – At least 10 area fire departments remain on the scene of a woods fire that started Saturday afternoon in an area between two Sneads Ferry neighborhoods.“We don’t have a determination yet on the cause. We are still actively working to put out the fire,” said Onslow County Emergency Services Director Norman Bryson.Bryson said a call came in about the fire at 2:57 p.m. and is located between the Mimosa Bay and Preserve neighborhoods.
